Master Instructor Emeritus

Master Emeritus

The Master Instructor Emeritus (MIE) is an honorary title that may be conferred upon an aviation educator in recognition of the individual’s years of dedication and commitment to excellence, professional growth, service to the aviation community, and quality aviation education.

The Master Instructor Emeritus is a one-time accreditation, without expiration, and must be requested by those who are retiring from full-time aviation education duties (to the extent that the individual would no longer be able to qualify for one of the other Master designations). Minimum eligibility requirements for MIE status include:

  • 55 years of age
  • Five Master Instructor/Educator designation cycles
  • Ten years as a Master Instructor/Educator
