Master Ground Instructor

The Master Certificated Flight Instructor (MCFI) and Master Ground Instructor (MGI) accreditations are designed for those who provide flight or ground instruction in the following five broad categories:

  1. Educator, where the applicant is conducting flight and/or ground instruction, seminars, classes, etc.
  2. Continuing Education, where the applicant is increasing his/her own knowledge base through additional ratings, endorsements, courses, programs, etc.
  3. Service to the Aviation Community, where the applicant is engaged in pro bono activities such as CAP, mentoring,serving as an officer/board member for an aviation organization, Angel Flight, etc.
  4. Creator of Media, where the applicant is authoring and sharing ideas, techniques, and work product via the Internet, books, audio/visual aids, magazine articles, etc.
  5. Participant, where the applicant is involved in activities, events, and organizations that promote aviation such as conferences, fly-ins, aircraft ownership, etc.
