Master Instructors Emeriti Master Instructor Emeritus status
is an honorary title that may be conferred upon an individual aviation
educator in recognition of her/his years of dedication and commitment
to excellence, professional growth, service to the aviation community,
and quality aviation education. Master Instructor Emeritus (MIE)
accreditation must be requested by those who are retiring from aviation
education or scaling back such that their level of activity would be
insufficient to permit renewal of a regular Master Instructor
accreditation. The MIE is a 1-time award without
expiration. Eligibility requirements include a minimum of 5
Master Instructor cycles and 10 years as a Master as well as a minimum
age of 55 years.
